Can Stretching Make You Stronger?

with 2 comments

Yes!

I’ve just started going back to yoga. I used to be a regular, but for the past few years have been too “busy” (lazy) to go. Yesterday was my fourth class in the past 3 weeks. I was totally fried at the end. Every muscle and ligament in my body was screaming. It felt great :)

  1. from a physiology standpoint, stretching increases bloodflow, which will increase the ability of your muscles to process lactic acid and nourish thmeselves. This could allow you to train harder with lesser chance of injury. This could in turn help you increase your vertical leap! :)

So in a roundabout way….I would say yes…..but I don’t play bball so couldn’t tell you if it has helped me! I prefer to stay firmly planted on the ground.

  2. If you stretch the calf muscle does that increase your vertical leap?
