Plan for the best, then throw the plans out the window

Having goals is great. Knowing what you want is fine. Just don’t get too tied to them. I have had a streak of late, where whatever plans I make tend to change….causing me to pull out the few hairs I have left…..while in the end things end up working out not only fine…but often better than I could have ever imagine.

My ah ha moment today happened this evening. I was supposed to meet someone for a date tonight. I was pretty excited. For whatever reason, I show up and she decides not to. There must have been reruns of “Friends” on the TV, or perhaps traffic was bad, or perhaps she just forgot. I really have no idea. Frankly, at this point I don’t care; though at the time I was quite pissed.

Lo and behold, I start mingling at the bar and end up running into some fun people. We are chatting away and eventually end up heading over to Mama’s Mexican Kitchen for a late dinner. It was not at all what I would have guessed I’d be doing tonight, but was a good fun and one of the girls has some serious potential :)

So I learned my lesson for the day: plan for the best, then throw the plans out the window. You’d be amazed at what ends up happening.
